There is space available in our Tuesday or Thursday morning NDIS groups – 10am-12pm

Autumn Y.E.S. program @ Anchors Youth Centre

Spend the morning exploring all the wonders WA Museum Boola Bardip has to offer. After this, head back to Anchors Youth Centre where Art Jam will host a zine making workshop.

WEEK 3 (17 May) – Inner Landscapes: Visualise your inner landscape and recreate it using mixed mediums

WEEK 4 (24 May) – Clay Meditation: Focusing on the bodily sensations while we form clay into a small sculpture

Cheryl runs these monthly-ish group sessions over teams, for those who can’t make it to an in person workshop, or would like to give art therapy a try. Each session will have a different mental health focus, and you can use whatever art supplies you have at home.

Art Jam is coming to Vincent! The City of Vincent is hosting a weaving session for young people age 8 – 17. Come and get creative and create your own individual weaving using yarn and cotton string.

Mindful Marbling @ Ballajura Library

Suminagashi is the ancient Japanese art of marbling paper. This naturally meditative art medium is a great way to experience ‘going with the flow’ and letting go of expectations. This workshop helps us see how we respond when things are out of our control. Your marbled paper can be taken home and presented as is, or added to collages and paper crafts.

Emotional intelligence @ Vincent Library

This workshop uses art therapy to teach us more about recognising and responding to the myriad of human emotions. 

Using a variety of artistic mediums and imagery, we will explore the reasons behind facial expressions and body language, and how we react in response. 

Participants will create an artwork with pencils, watercolours, inks and more to express an emotion, exploring colour and texture to enhance the meaning of the piece.

Keeping a journal gives us time to reflect on the challenges of daily life and allows us to keep track of our personal growth progress.
