About Us

Art Jam WA is a social enterprise based in Boorloo (Perth), founded by Ellie Glen.
Our goal is to improve wellbeing in our communities, by providing spaces for communities to connect, learn, and share.

We provide inclusive and accessible creative workshops and activations, no skills required, ever. Our approach is grounded in research on the positive impacts of arts on mental wellbeing, and delivered by facilitators with lived experience.

We operate in Perth and greater WA, focussing on services for teens and adults.

Ellie is an artist and skilled arts worker who is passionate about using the arts to improve lives.

Ellie has extensive experience in the community services sector, working with DADAA as an arts worker for people with disabilities. She has experience in Reggio Emilia early childhood learning, and experience in aged care.

Ellie is a talented artist and designer, creating anything from digital work to interactive installations. She has also coordinated and managed workshop spaces at Festivals.

Art Jam was first conceived when Ellie was experiencing mental health challenges in 2015.

Finding that engaging with her creative practice was helpful, she only wished that she could connect with others whilst creating. Inspired by friends in bands, she thought of ‘Art Jam’, a space where people can ‘jam’ with visual arts.

Over the years, she has seen the need for creative services in our local areas, as well as the emerging research around the arts’ impacts on mental health.

Ellie is continually broadening her knowledge and experience in this field, attending training and completing research to improve and grow.

Our Team

As Art Jam grows, we enlist the help of awesome creatives who are knowledgable or have lived experience with mental health. You may see our team delivering workshops with us or on our behalf.
